Because of the flurry of calls and faxes from many supporters, the number of likely aye votes increased from 5 to 9 between yesterday morning and mid-afternoon, when SB 594 was to have been voted on in the Assembly Utilities and Commerce Committee. These votes would have been enough for the bill to pass in this committee, but because we didn’t have the chair’s support, the vote has been postponed to next Monday. During this week, the bill will be amended to include language stipulating that it cannot result in any additional “cost-shifting.” Hopefully, this amendment will be enough to garner the chair’s support.

Thanks for your help. I’ll keep you posted.
